Christopher Cherico, Enrolled Agent

Christopher went to Pace University in New York where he studied Accounting and Business Management. To help him maintain overall health and focus in school, he took to the gym where he developed a love for fitness. After moving to North Carolina in 1995, he saw an opportunity to put his business management and fitness skills to use. He started a fitness company and at the same time enrolled in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology classes at North Carolina State University.

With his fitness company growing, Christopher was still eager for more. After prioritizing his focus back to taxes, he decided to once again expand his knowledge. He passed his Enrolled Agent exams and has developed a passion for tax resolution. While he handles an array of client needs, he loves focusing on helping the families caring for loved ones with Alzheimer's and dementia. After resolving hundreds of tax issues, Christopher chose to become proactive in his plight to help families like these. His unique way of gathering tax documents virtually eliminates the stress this causes family members and helps them avoid problems in the first place. In every stage of his life, one common denominator remains true; helping clients reduce stress has always been his #1 priority.

What is an Enrolled Agent?

The IRS website defines it as “An enrolled agent is a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service by either passing a three-part comprehensive IRS test covering individual and business tax returns, or through experience as a former IRS employee. Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. Individuals who obtain this elite status must adhere to ethical standards and complete 72 hours of continuing education courses every three years.

Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), have unlimited practice rights. This means they are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can represent clients before.” – irs.gov
